The promise of Compose for the Android ecosystem is extraordinary. Wanting to be ready to adopt it as soon as possible, the Pinterest team began exploring Compose integration in late 2021. Fast forwarding a year and half we’ve learned so much but have decided not to fully adopt Compose at this time. This decision is not the success story we expected to be telling after a year of investment, but sometimes our greatest learnings can come from moments where things didn't go quite to plan. Join us in this retrospective to learn what went right, what went wrong, and what we would do differently if we had the chance.
