David Baker

David has been working at Google since 2007, in the Java and Kotlin Ecosystem (JAKE) team (formerly known as the Java Core Libraries team) since 2015 (as Tech Lead since 2017). He has worked on open-source libraries including Guice, Dagger, Guava, Compile Testing, and AutoValue; and static analysis tools such as Error Prone and Android Lint. He previously worked on Google Wallet, including its iOS application, and AdWords. Before that, he was a Java software consultant for financial services firms, did software and management at a number of startups, and was Director and then VP Engineering at StarMedia Network, a Latin-American-focused web company in the late 1990s.

Before that, he was a graduate student studying cognitive neuroscience. (Ask him his opinion on LLMs!)
