Ryan Ulep

Ryan Ulep is Uber’s JVM Technical Lead where he drives Kotlin adoption and shapes the future of Kotlin across Uber’s large-scale systems. Previously at Google working on planet-scale systems, he brings a pragmatic yet visionary approach to language evolution, tooling, and developer productivity. Ryan mentors engineers, collaborates with open source efforts through Uber, and serves on the Kotlin Multiplatform Working Group. Outside of engineering, he’s an avid world traveler and scuba diving instructor, applying the same patience, resilience, and thoughtful problem-solving to exploration as he does to software design.
