
Yuri Geronimus is a software architect and tech leader specialising in payment systems, EMV flows, Android payment terminals, payment server services and mission-critical financial infrastructure.
At Verifone, he drives the Kotlin-based transaction engine that powers tens of thousands of unattended payment terminals and their backend gateway services across EMEA. His work focuses on deterministic architecture, offline-first resilience, EMV/PCI-DSS correctness, and real-time Kotlin design under strict regulatory constraints. Yuri leads architectural modernisation initiatives across Verifone’s payment platform.
As a JetBrains Kotlin Early Access Program (EAP) Champion, he provides production feedback from regulated payment systems (Android + backend) and de-risks upgrades and accelerates adoption of Kotlin in Verifone payment infrastructure.
Prior to his role at Verifone, Yuri held leadership positions at one of the largest European banks and HP, where he spearheaded innovative projects, including business process automation, cloud management systems, and IT service platforms.
His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards on national and EMEA levels.
