Researcher @ Kotlin Language Evolution, JetBrains
Marat Akhin

A not-so-young researcher/developer in the field of computer science and software engineering. Has been caught multiple times participating in various R&D projects claiming to be particularly interested in programming language design and program analysis.

His PhD research saw him cheating doing industry software development in 2011, and since then their relationship has been on shaky ground. After reevaluating his priorities in 2014, he put his PhD on indeterminate hiatus and decided to focus on doing actual research. In 2018, he got involved in the development of the Kotlin language specification and, subsequently, in language design.

Currently, Marat is working as a researcher @ Kotlin Language Evolution team at JetBrains, doing various projects with and about Kotlin.
